Off grid, 4 seat campervan. “Abi”

Overall, we felt very disappointed with our experience. We rented this van for 7days, travelling from Exmouth to Perth and clocked in ~2350km altogether. The owner was aware our trip was 7 days but insisted that as per his business model, we could go a max of 1400km before having to pay for excess kms - therefore we paid almost $500 dollars extra for a journey that Johan knew was impossible to complete within the allotted kilometres. On top of this, the van burns through fuel extremely fast, costing us nearly $600. Not only this but Johan charges $60 extra for a duvet & pillows - standard items you would expect to be included in a one way trip. We had a lengthy discussion with Johan regarding these hidden costs and expressed how disappointing this was. He admitted that every customer he has pays for the extra kms yet has not remodelled his business structure to accommodate for the fact that it is impossible to complete the journey from Exmouth to Perth within the allotted kilometres unless you rent the van for a minimum of 10days. We are passionate about supporting small businesses however experiences like this where the owner is clearly taking advantage of his customers is very off putting.

Johan is a very experienced camper and has set up the van accordingly to suit our every need. The 240 V battery didn't disappoint even on a cloudy day. Great support and set up!

This van is absolutely incredible!!!! It was everything we could have wanted and more. The perfect setup. If I ever have my own van, I want it exactly like this one. The fact that the battery can run without being plugged in from solar power and from driving the van, so the refrigerator can run at all times and you can cook, microwave, charge phones, etc. We also loved that you don't have to resetup the bed each night, but you have all the storage and space you need still. Johan is also a delight and reliable. He's very knowledgeable about vans and batteries. I've already recommended this to friends planning roadtrips!

Johan was very helpful and approachable for any queries during the trip! driving and living in his van in our Perth-Albany roadtrip was a great experience- van was was easy to drive and full of any amenities/tools you could think of. in-house battery was a powerhouse and never runs out. would happily hire from Johan again the next time im in Perth!

We had an amazing experience with Johans campervan during our trip through Western Australia. The van was in excellent condition, extremely well maintained and truly had everything we needed and even more ;) It was comfortable, reliable and perfectly equipped for a road trip. Johan is a really nice and helpful host. He doesnt just help with questions about the campervan itself but also by giving great tips. Including advice about the route and the surrounding area. His support made our trip much smoother and more enjoyable. We couldnt have asked for a better camper or a better rental experience. Highly recommended!

The van was perfect for an 8 day trip around the south west of WA. Had everything we needed and such a bonus being able to camp anywhere off grid. Johann was very helpful and communicative, would definitely recommend to others!

My wife, baby and I had an amazing 10 days driving down to Esperance and Margaret River in Abi. Very comfortable bed and everything we needed in the van at a very reasonable price. Off grid was a bonus.

The van was fantastic. We hired it for 44 days and it had everything we needed. No technical difficulties, enough space, great equipment. We traveled with a baby. Johan got us a baby seat, whenever the Baby was sleeping we would both sit in the front, when he woke up we would stop so one of us could change to the seat in the back and ist with the baby. Johan was great too. He was laid back, had a lot of useful advice and answered really quickly whenever we needed to talk to him. We enjoyed our time very much, thank you Johan! I would definitely rent this van again.

Could not recommend this van enough!!! We had an amazing 10 nights travelling the south coast in this van. Absolutely everything you need is included. We had my partners mum stay in the van and my partner and I sleeping in the double swag which worker perfectly. Johan was available to text at all times if we had any issues or questions and was very welcoming. We will definitely be hitting again for our next trip to WA!!! :)

Johan was easy to deal with, good communications. The van "Abi" was a great van to get around WA, easy to stay off grid and had everything we needed for our little getaway. I would definitely hire it again.

Johan has friendly & great customer service and gives you everything you need to know and more, the Van I used is pretty much glamping and so simple, would use again without hesitation and probably will.

Johan was nothing short of exceptional for our hire of Abi. Due to another vehicle booking issues he had the vehicle ready for us in less than 24 hours from my booking request. Super communicative and available for any questions, nevermind the van itself! A truly impressive vehicle with everything you need, there was honestly not one moment where I thought 'oh I need that', it has it all! The electronic and battery set up I was truly blown away by, allowing us to roam and stay unplugged for our whole trip! Thank you Johan for allowing me to make some key memories with my daughter, we will be back!

The van that we rented from Johan was perfectly suited to our needs and in great condition. The vehicle was mechanically sound and handled the roads well. As well as offering a fridge, cooking/eating utensils, chairs, bedding (and more), all of which were well-maintained and in excellent working order. We used the van as part of a 2 vehicle convoy that travelled from Perth to Exmouth and back over the course of 2 weeks, whilst we showed some international family (French) the west coast of WA. It allowed a comfortable trip both on the road and for sleeping. The owner of the vehicle clearly expects it to be looked after (ie. no speeding/off-road driving) and does monitor the vehicles location, however we thought that this was a fair request of renters and was not an issue for us.

We spent 20 days in Johans van (myself, my partner and our 2 year old) and it was incredible! Such an amazing fit out, so easy and everything you needed to have a comfy trip was included. Johan was super helpful and communicated well. Also epic bonus we didnt have to clean the outside of the van. Highly recommend hiring, you will have no regrets!

The van worked a treat and made for a great holiday. We had 4 adults and almost 4000km without a hassle

We loved our 3 week trip in Johans campervan. It contained everything we needed. No problems with the van at any point. Perfect vehicle for travelling the south west coast :)

Nous avons loué le van pendant 3 semaines, il était super bien équipé pour cuisiner et être autonome au niveau de la batterie. Le van roulait très bien et tenait bien la route. La communication et les échanges avec Johan étaient bons, simples et efficaces :) Le siège auto inclus était un vrai plus pour nous !
